Description
The JSO kicks off its 68th season with music inspired by the ancient folk tales from One Thousand and One Nights. Leonard Bernstein's Overture to Candide leads off followed by Turkish composer Fazil Say's 2007 Violin Concerto subtitles 1001 Nights in the Harem. The work showcases Jason Mellow, a New York City violinist who frequently performs on Broadway. The evening concludes with Rimsky-Korsakov's most famous work, Scheherazade.
