Description
An abundance of fruites and nuts can be found in Michigan woods, fields, and wetlands. Many birds and other wildlife depend upon them as a food source. Humans find many of these edible and tasty too. Various types of berries, cherries, and grapes and plums can be enjoyed fresh or used to create jams, pies, syrups, and beverages. Learn how to identify the edible species, where to look for them and when to collect ripe fruit and nuts. Presenter, Ellyn Meyers, grew up in the Midwest and learned how to indentify and forage for wild foods at an early age. With a true passion for plants, she studied horticulture and botany and has worked at several botanical gardens. Ellyn is an experienced teacher who enjoys presenting lectures and workshops.
