Camp Liberty's FREE PHEASANT HUNT is available to Active-Duty Military personnel, Veterans, and First Responders.
All levels of physical ability are invited. Adaptive equipment is available. Selection will be by a lottery process. To apply, click HERE
Applications must be received on or before Wednesday February 11, 2026
Participants will be selected through a random drawing and all participants will be notified via phone or email by Friday February 13, 2026 if they have or have not been selected for this Pheasant Hunt. Alternates will also be selected in case someone cannot attend. Applications via Facebook or Direct Messenger will not be accepted. Pheasant Hunt Details: The event is held at Camp Liberty, 7044 Kappler Drive, Brooklyn, MI 49230. There will be morning and afternoon session guided hunts. Camp Liberty will provide:
· Coffee and donuts for the morning hunters.
· Four ringneck pheasants planted per hunter.
· Experienced guides and bird dogs.
· Safety orientation meeting.
· Lessons on bird cleaning.
· Lunch for all hunters and volunteers.
· A warm fire and time to relax.
A few shotguns, game vests, and other equipment are available to lend to participants. Please let us know what you need. We will also allow a child or grandchild to hunt in place of the Veteran if accompanied in the field by the Veteran.
Morning Schedule
8:30 a.m. Sign In, Coffee and Donuts
9:00 a.m. Safety Briefing
9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Pheasant Hunting
Noon to 1:00 p.m. Lunch and Bird Cleaning
1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Relax by the fire in the Lodge.
Afternoon Schedule
11:30 a.m. Sign In and Coffee
Noon to 1:00 p.m. Lunch in the Lodge
1:00 p.m. Safety Briefing
1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Pheasant Hunting
3:30 to 5:00 p.m. - Bird Cleaning and relaxing by the fire in the Lodge.

Participants should bring:
· Clothing with hunters’ orange that is appropriate for the weather.
· Boots and gloves.
· A game vest.
· A Shotgun.
· A box of 7.5, or 8-shot STEEL loads.
· Eye and ear protection.
· No hunting license is needed.
