Description
Celebrate the arrival of summer with an enchanting evening at Hidden Lake Gardens during our Sunset Solstice Stroll on June 20. This event, which opens at 6:30 in the evening, is free and open to the public. Enjoy a peaceful twilight stroll through the gardens, explore the Conservatory, and experience the Sky Walk as day turns to dusk. In collaboration with the Lenawee County Department on Aging, the Alzheimer’s Association, and Dementia Friendly Services, Hidden Lake Gardens will also be offering free programming focused on dementia awareness and caregiver support. From 7-8 p.m., a caregiver-focused presentation, “Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body,” will be held in the Visitors Center Auditorium, offering practical tips and resources for supporting cognitive health and reducing caregiver stress. At the same time, people living with dementia can participate in facilitated nature activities in the Garden Room of the Visitors Center. Luminaries will also be available for donation to the Alzheimer’s Association and may be placed along designated walkways as a tribute or symbol of hope. Reverse valet parking will be available for those living with dementia. The final admission for the evening is at 8:00 p.m. While no registration is required for those attending only the stroll, guests planning to participate in the dementia-related programming are encouraged to RSVP by visiting hiddenlakegardens.msu.edu, emailing hlg@msu.edu, or calling 517-431-2060.
