Accompanist/Organist
Located in the heart of the Irish Hills, Michigan, the Brooklyn Presbyterian Church is seeking a part-time Accompanist/Organist. This position is part of a job-sharing arrangement, with flexible scheduling and competitive pay on a per-service basis.
The church has an Allen two-manual digital organ, grand and electronic pianos available for use.
Accompanist Job Description
The accompanists shall be responsible to the Senior Pastor. The accompanists shall coordinate schedules to accompany worship services.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide accompaniment at regularly scheduled Sunday services at 10:00am, according to the order of worship. This typically includes prelude and postlude, 2-3 hymns and work with the Chancel Choir or special music.
- Provide accompaniment for the following special services: Ash Weds, Maundy Thursday, Christmas Eve.
- Accompany the Chancel Choir on piano or organ for rehearsals (typically one hour on Thursday evenings from late August – May) and performances, as needed.
- Be available, to the extent possible, for weddings and funerals, and to accompany special music.
